September 11, 2001 is at the center of why I am running for President.

I have spent a great deal of time examining the events surrounding 9/11, the history that preceded them, the official record, and the questions that remain.

I have reached my own conclusion about where responsibility ultimately leads.

I am not naming that party today.

I am also not asking the American people to accept my conclusion simply because I say it is true. An accusation of this magnitude must stand on evidence that people can see, examine, challenge, and judge for themselves.

Some of the record is public. Some remains classified or unreleased. When the record is ready to be presented, I will present what I believe it shows, piece by piece.

If that evidence establishes criminal responsibility, participation, material assistance, obstruction, concealment, or unlawful protection of those responsible, I will pursue lawful accountability wherever the evidence leads.

Twenty-five years does not erase responsibility.

Power does not erase responsibility.

A title, an institution, a corporation, a government, or a reputation does not place anyone beyond the law.

I will not ask people to substitute belief for evidence. And I will not ask them to look away from evidence because the conclusion is uncomfortable.

That same principle does not stop at our borders.

I support the freedom, dignity, safety, and equal human worth of the Palestinian people. No people should be treated as though their lives matter less, and no government, organization, or individual should be beyond lawful scrutiny or accountability.

I know what I presently believe the evidence surrounding 9/11 will ultimately establish.

When the evidence can be laid before the public, we will lay it before the public.

Then we follow it wherever it leads.

No one above the law. No people beneath it.

That is what I mean by One World Balance.
